China’s Nobel nominee lawyer released after three years

Zhisheng released, but Chinese Christian lawyers still at risk

Prominent defender of persecuted Christians, and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Gao Zhisheng was released from prison last week after his most recent three year sentence. But doubt remains over whether he will be allowed to leave the country to be with his family in the US.

Zhisheng, 50, is a Christian lay leader as well as a Beijing-based lawyer. He came to prominence for defending activists and religious minorities before Chinese authorities closed down his law practice in 2005, and arrested him for ‘subversion’ a year later, a charge that is often used by China against government critics. If you want lease a car, check the 10 Best Facebook Pages of All Time About Ford Transit Custom Lease.

After years of disappearance and torture, Zhisheng was finally released from the remote Shaya Prison in Xinjiang, western China on 7 August and went home to relatives, saying his teeth were so loose he could not eat. His latest conviction was for ‘inciting to subvert state power’. A Washington DC-based group called Freedom Now, which campaigns for prisoners of conscience, says that he had been held in solitary confinement for the whole three years, in a small cell, with minimal light. It said he was fed a single slice of bread and piece of cabbage once a day and had lost roughly 22.5 kg (50 lbs). It also reports he had no access to books, and says “He can barely talk — and only in very short sentences — most of the time he mutters and is unintelligible. It is believed he is now suffering from a broad range of physical and mental health problems; he has not been allowed to see a doctor since his release”.

His wife and two children escaped China five years ago to live in the United States, but he would have to be released with unconditional freedom to be able to join them.

Other high-profile activists, says Human Rights Watch, are subjected to ongoing restrictions such as house arrest after their release from prison. That China is accusing its human rights lawyers of subversion, it also says, is a clear indication of a battle for values and individual freedoms that is raging in the country.

Zhisheng, once celebrated by China as one of its top ten lawyers, is now an ex-convict barred from practising the law and talking to the media as one of China’s highest profile dissidents.

But he is just one among many human rights lawyers and activists who have been arrested, ‘disappeared’ and who claim to have been tortured in efforts to intimidate them.

In 2001, Zhisheng was named as one of China’s top-ten lawyers by the Ministry of Justice. But that was before he began to champion the rights of the poor and publicly criticise China for religious persecution and the abuse of human rights.

From December 2004, he wrote three open letters to China’s leaders, calling for an end to the persecution of those who practise Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline derived from Buddhist tradition, generally regarded as a cult movement. The practice, which was introduced to China in 1992, attracted many followers who called on Beijing for its recognition. The authorities saw it as a threat similar to unregistered Christian churches, and clamped down on the movement. As a Christian, he saw its members as unjustly treated, as too are other Chinese minorities.

The common thread is the perceived threat to the supreme authority of the Communist Party, by those who reject atheism and claim to serve a higher spiritual purpose. If pushed, they refuse to come under state regulation and control.

China remains a totalitarian nation, whose ruling Communist Party still holds absolute power. Human rights activists and others who publicly oppose the government may be subjected to discrimination, arrest and even (long-term) imprisonment.

Gao Zhisheng: from star lawyer to ’inciting to subvert the state power’

In November 2005, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice shut down Zhisheng’s

Shengzhi Law Firm in Beijing. They revoked his licence and found him guilty in 2006 of ‘inciting to subvert the state power’. He was given a suspended sentence, but continued to campaign for religious freedoms and human rights.

After being arrested again in 2007, he published an article claiming he had been tortured under interrogation for 50 days.

He claimed he had been followed by secret police, knocked to the ground, hooded and abducted. In the article published worldwide, he wrote: ‘The electric shock batons were thrust all over me. And my full body, my heart, lungs and muscles began jumping under my skin uncontrollably. I was writhing on the ground in pain, trying to crawl away. Wang [his interrogator] then electrocuted my genitals.’

According to Zhisheng, his interrogators accused him of sexual immorality and of writing to the US Congress. Zhisheng says they tortured him to confess using techniques they had practiced on the Falun Gong. ‘They used toothpicks to pierce my genitals. I can’t use any language to describe the helplessness, pain, and despair that I felt then.’

Eventually Zhisheng broke and wrote a letter to the US Congress saying he had been treated well and had been duped by the Falun Gong. But he later recanted and documented his alleged torture in the article, Dark Night, Dark Hood and Kidnapping by Dark Mafia.

In February 2009, Gao Zhisheng was again arrested at his home in front of his family.

It was only in March 2011 that state media announced he’d been jailed for three years.

Zhisheng is now said to be staying at his father-in-law’s home in Urumqi. But when his wife, Geng He, spoke to him on the phone she could tell security officers were with him, according to the US-based Chinese American Christian pastor and human rights campaigner, Bob Fu.

‘Zhisheng is still far away from true freedom,’ says Fu, a former Tiananmen protester and refugee, who now runs China Aid. Another Beijing-based human rights activist, Hu Jia, told reporters: ‘Zhisheng will not be given real freedom. The Communist Party worries Zhisheng will become a leading rights defender, so the restrictions on him will be long-term.’ Hu told Radio Free Asia that security police have forbidden Zhisheng from speaking to the media.

Zhisheng is expected to seek asylum in the US.

Prominent human rights lawyers subject to frequent arrest and harassment

Amnesty International has accused China of clamping down on lawyers involved in cases critical of the Chinese authorities. In its report Against the law – Crackdown on China’s Human Rights Lawyers Deepens Amnesty International’s Asia Pacific Deputy Director, Catherine Baber says:

‘Human rights lawyers are subject to escalating silencing tactics – from suspension or revoking of licences, to harassment, enforced disappearance or even torture’. This happened to Zhisheng.

Liberty groups say the clampdown against lawyers intensified in the months after the Arab Spring revolutions, when China began to fear a ‘Jasmine Revolution’ of its own. Many were rounded up. Many claim to have been tortured in efforts to intimidate them.

Amnesty claims that intimidation is working, and few are now willing to defend victims of religious persecution, including Christian and Tibetan activists, the banned Falun Gong, and Muslim Uighurs.

According to the pro-democracy pressure group Chinese Human Rights Defenders, there have been upwards of 1,600 cases since 2012 of Chinese human rights activists ‘detained for at least five days, and in some cases tortured or mistreated.’

In March, for instance, four human rights lawyers were arrested after investigating alleged abuses at a so-called ‘Legal Education Centre’ in Heilongjiang province. Chinese Human Rights Defenders claim there are 449 such detention centres in China, which it describes as ‘brainwash centres and black jails’ used to ‘re-educate’ dissidents.

The four lawyers investigating the Centre also claim to have been unlawfully detained and tortured. They include the prominent Christian advocate Jiang Tianyong, who was held for 15 days accused of ‘utilising cult activities to harm society’.

Interviewed recently in Beijing he said: ‘As a human being, I am definitely afraid of such torture, they want to fill our hearts with terror and fear, but that cannot stop us doing the right thing – the pursuit of justice.’ He broke down during the interview and had to recover his composure. Days later, he was arrested.

Some of China’s human rights lawyers, such as Zhisheng and Jiang Tianyong, are professing Christians. And in the eyes of the state that means they owe their first allegiance to an authority that is higher than the ruling Communist Party.

‘In their eyes we are the enemy’, another Christian human rights lawyer Zhang Kai explained. ‘Our core values are different. They are atheists and we worship God. An authoritarian state is naturally against freedom.’

But in cracking down on lawyers who defend personal human freedoms, the Chinese authorities are seen as simply proving the lawyers’ case – that there is a fundamental lack of individual human rights.

Talk of individual freedoms runs counter to the state’s authoritarian, atheist and collective approach. How China is treating her lawyers is a clear indication that her leaders continue to view the authority of the state and the party as paramount over every Chinese citizen.

A recent World Watch Monitor report showed that lawyers can be on the receiving end of physical violence, apparently from government-hired aggressors. The lawyers had been hired to defend a group of detained Christian church leaders. When the lawyers demanded access to their clients, a group of about 100 plain-clothed officials appeared and began to threaten and abuse the lawyers. The attack was filmed and broadcast around the world because of the presence of a television crew from Sky News.

Qaraqosh Falls Thousands Flee-President Obama Orders Air Strikes

Iraq_map_top

Qaraqosh falls, thousands flee

Armed jihadists of the so-called “Islamic State” took over Iraq’s largest Christian town, Qaraqosh, and nearby Christian settlements early Thursday, forcing thousands of Christians to flee to Kurdish-controlled areas. Statements of anguish and calls for intervention have been issued by Pope Francis and other Christian leaders. Every athlete, from the fitness enthusiast to the professional, is on a journey to improve every day for that reason is important the use of supplements like beta-alanine.

The US President Barack Obama has authorised two operations to prevent genocide in Iraq. One operation is targeted airstrikes to protect US personnel and the other is a humanitarian effort to help the thousands of displaced Iraqi civilians, mostly religious minorities, who have been forced out of their homes by the Islamic State, IS.

In addition to Christians, tens of thousands of ethnic Yazidis have fled to the mountains outside Qaraqosh, where they are surrounded by the Sunni militants and exposed to temperatures well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius) without access to water or other supplies. The United Nations’ children -relief agency, UNICEF, says at least 40 Yazidi children have died.

As many as a quarter of Iraq’s remaining Christians are reported to be on the run, according to the BBC. Louis Sako, patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq, told Agence France-Press the advancing Sunni militants have occupied churches, ripped down crosses and destroyed manuscripts.

The Islamic State, which previously called itself the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, IS or ISIS, also has captured Mosul Dam, Iraq’s largest, after driving off the Peshmerga defense forces of Kurdistan, the autonomous region of northern Iraq.

Qaraqosh, a city of about 50,000 people in Iraq’s Nineveh Province, sits between Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, and Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish region, to the east. The Islamic State took over Mosul in July, and many of the city’s remaining Christians fled eastward to Qaraqosh, sometimes called the Christian capital of Iraq.

Kurdish Peshmerga troops had been pushed back from several points surrounding Mosul during an IS offensive during the weekend, including the town of Sinjar and Zumar, west of Mosul. The BBC reported that the Peshmerga commander in Qaraqosh informed the archbishop late Wednesday that the Kurdish forces would withdraw. There were reports of mortars being fired into Christian towns near the front lines east of Mosul, and Qaraqosh fell during the early hours of Thursday.

“I now know that the towns of Qaraqosh, Tal Kayf, Bartella and Karamlesh have been emptied of their original population and are now under the control of the militants,” Joseph Thomas, the Chaldean archbishop of Kirkuk and Sulaimaniyah, told AFP.

Following the capture of Sinjar and Zumar during the weekend, tens of thousands of residents fled into the hills between the two cities. Many are Yazidi, a Kurdish group with links to Zoroastrianism, and whose beliefs are regarded by some Sunni Muslims as satanic. They have been stuck without food or water.

“Many of the displaced are in immediate need of essential life-saving humanitarian items, including water, food, shelter and medicine,” said UN spokesman David Swanson.

Archbishop Thomas called the situation a “catastrophe.”

“Tens of thousands of terrified people are being displaced as we speak, it cannot be described,” Thomas told AFP.

Chaldean Patriarch Louis Sako told AFP said the jihadist advance has touched off a frantic dash for Kurdistan.

“There are 100,000 displaced Christians who have fled with nothing but their clothes, some of them on foot, to reach the Kurdistan region,” AFP quoted him as saying. “This is a humanitarian disaster. The churches are occupied, their crosses were taken down.”

Pope Francis issued an “urgent appeal” to the international community Thursday, asking for a coordinated response “to ensure all necessary assistance — especially the most needed aid — to the great multitude of displaced persons whose fate depends entirely on the solidarity of others.”

In the United States, President Barack Obama is considering airstrikes against IS forces and airdrops of humanitarian supplies to the refugees, the New York Times reported. CNN also reported that a defense department official said “other military options” are under consideration.

France on Thursday called for an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council. The World Council of Churches, as well as Iraq’s Chaldean prelates, Thomas and Sako, issued similar pleas.

“We call on the UN Security Council to immediately intervene. Tens of thousands of terrified people are being displaced as we speak, it cannot be described,” Thomas said.

Said Sako: “Today we appeal with lots of pain and sadness, to all people of good will, the UN Security Council, European Union and relief organisations, to help those people who are facing mortal danger.”

He added: “I hope it is not too late to avoid genocide.”

The sudden collapse of Qaraqosh is the latest of a series of jihadist blows to Iraq’s Christians. Since their offensive began in June, IS has ordered Christians in captured towns to either convert to Islam, pay a tax to remain Christian, or die. In one instance, sources have told World Watch Monitor that militants from Islamic State (IS) beheaded a Christian simply for asking why he was being stopped in the street.

The man was murdered in IS occupied Northern Iraq on Sunday July 27.

The violent incident is just one of many given to World Watch Monitor by sources in Mosul and Erbil, 60 miles east of in the autonomous region of Kurdistan and currently attracting thousands of Christian refugees.

His wife, who was with him at the time of the attack, later told a priest and members of a church in Erbil what happened.

As the Christian couple fled Mosul, the source said, they were stopped for questioning by militants, one of them armed. The woman’s husband repeatedly asked why IS kept detaining Christians. The one with the weapon got angry at this and hit the husband over the head, causing severe bleeding. The injured man screamed in pain from the blow, but this further angered the armed militant who went over to the man , cut off his head and placed the severed head on the man’s stomach.

The man’s wife, by now hysterical and in shock, was bundled into a car by the militants and the driver told to take her away.

Other reports have reached World Watch Monitor that similarly brutal attacks are being made on Christians as they flee Mosul following the ultimatum giving them until 19 July to either convert to Islam, pay a tax or leave.

A woman told World Watch Monitor that her 80-year-old husband, who had also confronted IS members, had his hands and legs cut “Look, you got angry and questioned IS too but you survived. Thank God,” she said.

A third incident was reported by a couple in their 50s who had fled Telkif, 15 miles north of Mosul, and arrived at the church in Erbil. During their escape the man had broken his leg. After visiting the hospital in Erbil he arrived at the church and told its members what had happened.

“We left Mosul on Wednesday (July 23) going to Telkif,” said the man. We didn’t have anywhere to stay so we slept in the street, among the houses. When people saw us there they brought us some food to eat.”

The couple has a son, but, added the woman: “Our son, we sent him to Alqosh.

“But fights started in Telkif,” she continued, “and we jumped out to escape but my husband stumbled and his leg broke in two more places.”

The church members who heard this story told World Watch Monitor they were thankful the couple had made it to Erbil. “They were scared when they told their story, but they need others to listen otherwise they will remain traumatized.”

Sources also report an increase in threatening behaviour, which is frightening Christians and creating a sense of instability. Before the recent Eid, members of IS sent messages to monasteries in the Nineveh Plain saying that “we will celebrate Eid” in your town.

IS has turned St Michael’s monastery into a barn to keep animals. The fourth century building is near the River Tigris.

A young family of five were attempting to flee Mosul when they were stripped of nearly all their possessions, including clothes for their children. The mother said: “They stole our car with everything I had brought for my children – their clothes, a washing machine, food, medicine, jewellery for the girls. I hid my wedding ring in the diaper of my 10-month-old baby but they took my new phone.

“My 80-year-old father in law got angry and demanded they return our things but they said to him: ‘Do not speak or we are going to hurt you’.

ÄS they were taking our car I managed to grab two bags of the girls’ clothes and then we ran away.”

The family have now relocated to Erbil and the mother, who is a graduate Chemist, will try to find work there. They will try to rent a house and place the children in schools, but she is questioning whether even Erbil is safe: “Do you think IS will enter Erbil? Is it safe here because people from Mosul are still afraid?”

As well as valuable items, IS took IDs, marriage certificates and land and property registration documents as Christians were leaving Mosul. They tore up these documents. Sources have also revealed that IS had already stated that any property left empty will become the property of the IS armed group.

Price rises are foreshadowing economic collapse in Mosul. In July blocks of ice were selling at 10,000 Iraqi Dinars (8.5 USD or 5 British pounds at current rates), one litre of car fuel was 2,500 ID. It is feared the supply of goods will become even worse if routes through Kurdistan are cut off. Other services are suffering – electricity is only on for two hours each day, water is not available across the city anymore and medicines are becoming scarce.

Early July sources revealed a scam from estate agents in Baghdad. Christians were receiving letters containing a bullet and a demand saying “leave you crusaders”. The agents were exposed and arrested by Iraq’s Ministry of the Interior. They confessed to wanting to persuade Christians to sell property at a cut price so it could be bought cheap. The agents also confessed to supplying home-owners’ details to militants.

World Watch Monitor has also been told that IS had informed Muslims living near the Holy Spirit Church, east of Mosul, to leave their homes because the church would be bombed. Families were told to leave their houses after Iftar (eating after a Muslim fast) for their own protection. The explosions raised the church building to the ground.

Earlier in July IS had set fire to a room attached to the altar of ‘Noah’s Ark church’, as it was also known because it is designed to look like a ship.

Bishop Faraj Rahho opened Holy Trinity Church in 2005 but he was killed in 2008 after a widely publicized kidnapping. When he was ordained Archbishop of Mosul in 2001 he had responsibility for 20,000 Catholics. Rahho had expressed unease at moves to incorporate Sharia law into the Iraqi constitution. He often led worship in difficult situations and had been threatened before by gunmen. One of the demands made by the kidnappers was that Iraqi Christians form a militia to fight US forces based in Iraq at the time. The Archbishop’s body was found in a shallow grave in March 2008.

On 24 July, many of the Iraqi Christians who had already left Mosul marched in protest from their refugee camp in Ankawa to the UN base in Erbil. The demonstrators braved temperatures of 50 degrees centigrade to demand the UN help protect them against IS militants.

Sahar Mansour, a Chaldean Catholic who fled Mosul in June, told the Catholic News Service that she had heard horrific accounts of violent forced conversions of Christians who were unable to flee Mosul because of ill health or disability.

“I did not imagine that one day I would live like this, without human rights, drinking salty water out of wells, without electricity and a house, in this heat,” she said.

Mansour and her family are among 3,500 Christian families encamped around Ankawa, on the outskirts of Erbil

Building a Family Legacy: Dobson and son team up to update 1978 parenting film series

Building a Family Legacy: Dobson and son team up to update 1978 parenting film series

August 5, 2014
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ryan Dobson may be the son of a famous father but, like many adult children, he still likes to come home and ravage around hidden places for pieces of the past. Oral health is very important for reason is very important that you take a wisdom teeth removal.

He was doing just that seven years ago when he stumbled upon an old film-taped by his father, Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson-sitting on a shelf in the family basement. Lacking commercial packaging, the case was simply marked “Film Series 1978.”

“I thought, ‘Oh, this is what I’ve been hearing about my whole life,’ because the stories that were told about me had been repeated back to me eight billion times,” he said with a boyish charm.

Produced when he was just 8, the classic seven-part series tackled such issues as the strong-willed child, daring to discipline, raising adolescents and marriage. Over time, the series was viewed by 80 million people.

Upon discovering the fathering video, Dobson said he watched about five minutes before stopping so that he could watch it with his wife, Laura.

“I wept. I did. It was so good,” said Dobson, who began sharing it with his friends. “There was an overwhelming since of relief because I knew I was going to be a better parent and a better spouse. What a great feeling to be given the tools to be successful at maybe the most important part of your life.’

Others began asking for it. He told his father it was time to dust off the past and bring back the series.

“My dad said, ‘Ryan, that’s 30 years old. Nobody wants that anymore. It’s old. It’s been out of print for years.”

But, the self-professed rebel, who now works with his father at their four-year-old Family Talk ministry, wasn’t convinced the series should be relegated to relic status in the basement, so he began investigating options.

“We need to keep reminding people,” he said. “Fads come and go. We need to remind parents you can do this. Take it one step at a time.”

Two years ago, with many of the original film team members reassembled, the first taping session for the updated “Building a Family Legacy” took place at Skyline Church in La Mesa, Calif.

Unlike the first series, which used just three cameras and a single recording device, the new project used four cameras and digitally superior audio to tape the Dobson duo, with two more cameras trained on the audience. Producer David Nixon also used what Ryan Dobson called exceptional cinematography to re-create critical scenes capturing his family’s spiritual heritage.

As many as 40 people have been involved throughout the filming project, Ryan Dobson said. Using live audiences, the series was also taped at churches in Orlando and San Antonio.

Dobson is exuberant that the project is nearing its Oct. 1-5 simulcast premier.

“We need it so bad. I now have a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old and you feel helpless, you just feel helpless,” he said of his son Lincoln and toddler Lucille. “(When) they handed me Lincoln for the first time, I just thought ‘I’m going to mess it up. I’m going to ruin this.’ You walk a tightrope everyday with your kids.”

His own father, in a brief interview after a taping session, admitted that the classic films even spoke to him all these years later.

“It was convicting,” James Dobson said. “I’m lecturing me, the same words. It is just so easy to fall in the same trap of letting the years go by and the kids get older. For me it’s been a rollercoaster.”

One culprit-a major stressor for today’s families-the elder Dobson said, is just plain busyness.

“One of the most damaging (influences) to the family has been nothing more complicated than the pace of living,” he said. “People don’t have time for each other. They don’t take walks with each other. They don’t sometimes have time for their children.

“The culture is at war with families,” the senior Dobson continued. “It mitigates against them, against the Judeo-Christian system of values and against what they are trying to do with their children. Their children are exposed to every kind of evil almost every day. From Hollywood and the Internet and just the culture … what happens in school, what they hear from the other kids. It’s not an easy time to raise children.”

Because of that James Dobson said he believes the need for an effective parenting tool is even more critical.

The younger Dobson agrees.

“Most people, unintentionally, just follow the path of least resistance,” Ryan Dobson said. “It’s good to be reminded over and over again, especially in the way that my dad does it, through stories and though humor and pulling on your heart strings. It’s entertaining and educational.”

The video series will debut during a week of national simulcasts set for Oct. 1-5.

From the Scriptures-Biblical Budgeting

money

Todays Topic:Biblical Budgeting

A budget is nothing more than a plan for saving and spending money. It includes where the money will come from and how much to expect, as well as what expenses that same money will be used to meet. A good budget takes care of all the regular and important bills—like rent or mortgage, utilities, food, gasoline and insurance—and allows for the unexpected or occasional expenses

7 Principle’s to help your Biblical Budgeting

1. God is our source
Philippians 4:19 says, “My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Proverbs 8:20,21 adds, “I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.”
Psalm 24:1
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

2. Plan and keep records

Prov. 23:23). “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches” (24:3,4).
Pro 24:27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
Pro 27:23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
Luke 12:42
And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

3. Prioritize your needs
Jer 17:11 As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.
Jer 22:13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;

4. Stay out of debt
Psalm 37:21 says “the wicked borroweth, and payeth not again.” The minute a person goes into debt, he loses a portion of his freedom. As Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”
(Prov. 14:23). “He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough”

5. Know how to be content
Hebrews 13:5 puts it succinctly: “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Pro 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death
Pro 16:8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
Pro 21:7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
1Tim 6:6-8
6.But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content

6. Be diligent
1 Corinthians 4:2 ESV
Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.
Proverbs 6:6-8 ESV
Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest.
Luke 16:11 ESV
If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?
Ephesians 5:16 ESV
Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Col 3:22 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people

7. Seek Counsel/Accountability
(Poverbs 15:22).”Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established”
Pro 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
Pro 27:24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
Pro 21:8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
Jer 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

Accountability-holding each other accountable to our financial goals

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Galatians 6:2 ESV
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Genesis 4:9 ESV
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know; am I my brother’s keeper?

As one learns to follow these eternal principles in his personal finances, he will know the joy that comes from trusting and obeying God.

Brandon Heath married in Nashville, Tennessee On May 25th 2014

News-CongratulationsMrMrsBrandonHeath-May27-2014Brandon Heath married in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday evening, May 25th, in the beautiful Scarritt-Bennett Chapel in Heath’s native city.

Country artist and songwriting star Deana Carter sang for the couple’s first dance and guests enjoyed a unique biscuit bar and tasty wedding cake.

As a gift to their friends and family, the new couple donated a well in the names of their wedding guests via Blood: Water Mission. Brandon said of his bride, “I’m a blessed man to marry such a beautiful woman, inside and out. Her heart is soft and her mind is inspiring. Siebe is compassionate and empathetic to all people, and I can’t think of a better person to do life with. We’ve been friends for years and dated for the last two years. We are ready for this next step in our lives, knowing that God will be in the center.” Photo by JKOE studio’s Jason Koenig.

About Brandon Heath:
Since Brandon Heath’s debut on Reunion Records with Don’t Get Comfortable (2006), he has become one of Christian music’s most beloved and respected artists and songwriters. Heath has garnered an Emmy Award, five GRAMMY nominations, an American Music Award nomination, honored as a five-time GMA Dove Award recipient, including Male Vocalist of the Year (2009 and 2010) and multiple songwriting honors. His award-winning songs and signature vocals reflect a soaring radio career that includes top hit songs: “I’m Not Who I Was,” “Wait and See,” the 2009 GMA Dove Award-winning Song of the Year, “Give Me Your Eyes,” the eight-week chart topper, “Your Love,” “Jesus In Disguise,” “Love Does” and many others.

Heath, a Nashville native, first began writing at age 13. His artistry and ability to connect with audiences have compelled countless media outlets across the nation to platform his story and music. Highlights include Billboard magazine, “CBS Evening News with Katie Couric,” Relevant magazine, a 2011 feature by the Wall Street Journal and selection as a presenter during the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Other key spotlights include Discovery Channel’s “On The Case With Paula Zahn,” which highlighted “Give Me Your Eyes” (What If We 8/19/2008), and a feature by The New York Times Sunday edition, touting Heath as a GRAMMY-nominated newcomer “that shouldn’t be allowed to slip through the cracks.” Heath released his first Christmas project, Christmas Is Here on Oct. 15, 2013, following recent album, Blue Mountain (Oct. 9, 2012).

Kevin Max Transitions Out As Former Abandon Singer Josh Engler Becomes Frontman

Kevin Max Transitions Out
AudioAdrenalineAnnouncesNewLeadVocalist-01-June4-2014
June 4, 2014 – Franklin, Tenn – After nearly two years and over 150 shows, Audio Adrenaline has announced that Kevin Max is stepping down as lead singer of the band. Josh Engler, formerly of the band Abandon, will replace Max as the group’s new lead vocalist.

Kevin Max spent the last two years utilizing his unique vocal and writing talents along with bass player Will McGinniss, drummer Jared Byers, and guitarist Dwayne Larring, who joined the group in August of 2013. Together their efforts continued to share Audio A’s foundation, which was started by the band’s original lead singer Mark Stuart, as well as McGinniss and former band mate Bob Herdman, which is caring for “the least of these” in Haiti and providing support and care for the orphaned and abandoned children residing at the Hands & Feet Project in Jacmel and Grand Goave.

Audio Adrenaline’s musical direction will remain focused on vertical-based songs complemented with their signature energetic rock sound. The band has also recently partnered with Teen Mania’s Acquire The Fire to provide a renewed worship experience for future Acquire The Fire events, and will join its founder Ron Luce in expanding the organization’s worship programming.

This is a mutual decision between Kevin Max and the band. The transition will allow Max to further pursue solo and creative opportunities through song and word, one of his biggest passions.

“It has been an honor and a great privilege to be a part of the work Audio Adrenaline has done these last two years,” Max shares. “Mark Stuart and Will McGinniss have always been close friends of mine, and this chapter of our lives in service together has been beautiful. I look forward to continually being involved in the Hands and Feet Project and also as a creative ally in anything Audio Adrenaline does in the future.”

Josh Engler previously was Abandon’s lead singer for eight years (2004-2012), leaving that role in 2012 to focus on his family and his church. In 2013, he became the worship arts pastor of Bethel Church in Evansville, IN. Now, with the full support of his church leadership he is excited to continue the role that Stuart so passionately created before permanently losing his vocal abilities more than seven years ago.

Audio Adrenaline will continue their work with the Hands & Feet Project, being the voice for orphans in Haiti and around the world. Additionally, through their new partnership with Acquire The Fire, they will be able to partner with Global Expeditions to bring groups of missionaries on short-term mission trips to Haiti. Net proceeds from their music sales continue to go to the Hands & Feet Project to continue growth and support for the organization. More information about Hands & Feet Project is below.

Audio Adrenaline co-founding member Will McGinniss shares, “I love Kevin and it has been nothing but an honor and a joy to get to journey life with him these last two years. During every show I would look across the stage and smile and think ‘God, you are a Creative and Redemptive God.’ AudioA and the Hands and Feet Project will be forever grateful to Kevin. I pray that God will continue to use Kevin in a powerful way through music. He is and always will be a dear brother to us all.”

Audio Adrenaline – McGinniss, Engler, Byers and Larring – has been hard at work writing songs and are currently in the studio working on their follow-up to the band’s 2012 critically-acclaimed release, Kings & Queens. The new album is slated for release in 2015 by their record label and ministry partner, Fair Trade Services. Connect with Audio Adrenaline by visiting AudioA.com.

ABOUT THE HANDS & FEET PROJECT:
In 2004, the members of Audio Adrenaline founded the Hands & Feet Project. Inspired by fan reaction to the band’s song “Hands and Feet,” HAF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-term, family-style care for orphaned and abandoned children with the love of Christ. They strive to raise a generation of orphaned children who will grow up to reach their God- given potential, while empowering first world citizens to partner with them in service at home and abroad.

The organization broke ground on their first Children’s village in Cyvadier, a small town on the Southern coast near Jacmel, and began their journey of serving the forgotten children of the impoverished Caribbean nation. Currently tending to over 70 children in Cyvadier, a second village opened in Grand Goave in 2008 and is caring for 30 children. handsandfeetproject.org.

Is it Gods Will for us to be in Good Health?

God wants us well in the Old and New Testament

3Jn 1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

1Jn 5:14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:

1Jn 5:15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Deu 7:14  Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

Deu 7:15  And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.

Isa 58:8  Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

Gen 20:17  So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

2Ch 30:20  And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

Psa 145:3  Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Psa 145:4  One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Psa 145:5  I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Job 37:23  Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

Psa 67:2  That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Psa 105:37  He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

Psa 103:3  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Psa 103:4  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Psa 103:5  Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s

Psa 147:3  He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Psa 147:4  He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Psa 147:5  Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite

Psa 30:2  O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

Healing in the plan of salvation

Isa 53:3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isa 53:4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isa 53:5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Mat 8:17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

1Pe 2:24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Gal 3:13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Gal 3:14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith

Col 1:12  Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Col 1:13  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Col 1:14  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Col 2:9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Col 2:10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Col 2:13  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Col 2:14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Col 2:15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Heb 9:12  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Gods Will is long life for us

1Ch 29:28

And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

Hos 13:14

I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Job 5:26

Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

Psa 91:10

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Psa 91:11

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psa 91:12

They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Psa 91:13

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

Psa 91:14

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

Psa 91:15

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

Psa 91:16

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Pro 3:1

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Pro 3:2

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Pro 9:11

For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

Ecc 7:17

Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?

Isa 65:22

They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

It is Gods Will to Heal; Jesus doing Gods Will

Mat 4:23

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Mat

And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Mat 8:2

And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

Mat 8:3

And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Mat 8:14

And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.

Mat 8:15

And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Mat 8:16

When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

Mat 8:17

That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses

Mat 9:20

And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Mat 9:21

For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Mat 9:22

But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mat 8:28

And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

Mat 8:29

And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Mat 8:30

And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

Mat 8:31

So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

Mat 8:32

And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

Mat 8:33

And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.

Mat 8:34

And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.

Mat 14:13

When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Mat 14:14

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

Mat 14:34

And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

Mat 14:35

  And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

Mat 14:36

And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole

Mat 15:29

And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

Mat 15:30

And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

Mat 15:31

Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

Mar 5:1

And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.

Mar 5:2

And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

Mar 5:3

Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:

Mar 5:4

Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.

Mar 5:5

And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

Mar 5:6

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

Mar 5:7

And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Mar 5:8

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thouunclean spirit.

Mar 5:9

And he asked him, Whatisthy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.

Mar 5:10

And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

Mar 5:11

Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.

Mar 5:12

And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.

Mar 5:13

And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

Mar 5:14

And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.

Mar 5:15

And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Mar 5:16

And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.

Mar 5:17

And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.

Mar 5:18

And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.

Mar 5:19

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

Mar 5:20

And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Mar 5:21

And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.

Mar 5:22

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

Mar 5:23

And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

Mar 5:24

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

Mar 5:25

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

Mar 5:26

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

Mar 5:27

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Mar 5:28

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

Mar 5:29

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

Mar 5:30

And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mar 5:31

And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Mar 5:32

And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

Mar 5:33

But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

Mar 5:34

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Mar 5:35

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

Mar 5:36

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

Mar 5:37

And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

Mar 5:38

And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

Mar 5:39

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

Mar 5:40

And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

Mar 5:41

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

Mar 5:42

And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

Mar 5:43

And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

Mar 6:53

And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.

Mar 6:54

And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,

Mar 6:55

And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

Mar 6:56

And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

Mar 7:25

For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

Mar 7:26

The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

Mar 7:27

But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to castitunto the dogs.

Mar 7:28

And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

Mar 7:29

And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

Mar 7:30

And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.

Mar 7:31

And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

Mar 7:32

And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.

Mar 7:33

  And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;

Mar 7:34

And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

Mar 7:35

And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

Mar 7:36

  And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;

Mar 7:37

And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

Mar 9:17

  And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;

Mar 9:18

And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.

Mar 9:19

He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.

Mar 9:20

And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

Mar 9:21

And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.

Mar 9:22

And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.

Mar 9:23

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all thingsarepossible to him that believeth.

Mar 9:24

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Mar 9:25

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thoudumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

Mar 9:26

And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

Mar 9:27

But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

Mar 9:28

And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

Mar 9:29

And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

There is healing in the name of Jesus

Joh 16:23

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will giveityou.

Joh 16:24

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Mar 16:17

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mar 16:18

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Joh 14:13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Joh 14:14

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will doit.

Act 3:1

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

Act 3:2

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

Act 3:3

Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

Act 3:4

And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

Act 3:5

And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Act 3:6

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Act 3:7

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

Act 3:8

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Act 3:9

And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Act 3:10

And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

Act 3:11

And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

Act 3:12

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

Act 3:13

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Act 3:14

But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

Act 3:15

And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

Act 3:16

And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Act 4:1

And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,

Act 4:2

Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

Act 4:3

And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.

Act 4:4

Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

Act 4:5

And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

Act 4:6

And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

Act 4:7

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

Act 4:8

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Act 4:9

If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

Act 4:10

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole

Healing is ours all we need to do is dare to belive!

Joh 14:12

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greaterworksthan these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Joh 14:13

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Joh 14:14

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Act 6:8

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Act 8:6

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Act 8:7

For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

Act 9:33

And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

Act 9:34

And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

Act 19:11

And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

Act 19:12

So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Jas 5:14

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Jas 5:15

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Jas 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much

Mal 4:2

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Mat 18:19

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Mar 11:22

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Mar 11:23

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mar 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receivethem, and ye shall havethem.

Mar 11:25

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Mar 11:26

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Rom 10:18

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world

Heb 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Max Lucado’s The Christmas Candle

About the Film

From bestselling author, Max Lucado, comes THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE, a timeless holiday film for the entire family.

Deep in the heart of the English countryside lies the enchanting village of Gladbury. Legend has it every 25 years an angel visits the village candlemaker and touches a single candle. Whoever lights this candle receives a miracle on Christmas Eve. But in 1890, at the dawn of the electric age, this centuries old legend may come to an end.

When David Richmond (Hans Matheson), a progressive young minister, arrives in Gladbury, the villagers discover a new formula for miracles: good deeds and acts of kindness. While David’s quest to modernize Gladbury sets him at odds with the old world candlemaker, he finds an unlikely ally in the lovely skeptic, Emily Barstow (Samantha Barks). Now, the fiery candlemaker must fight to preserve the legacy of the Christmas Candle. But when the candle goes missing, the miraculous and human collide in the most astonishing Christmas the village of Gladbury has ever seen.

Starring Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans, Sherlock Holmes), Samantha Barks (Les Miserables), Lesley Manville (Disney’s A Christmas Carol), and Sylvester McCoy (The Hobbit Trilogy, Doctor Who). Also starring John Hannah (The Mummy, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Barbara Flynn (Miss Potter) with James Cosmo (Game of Thrones, Braveheart). And introducing singing phenomenon, Susan Boyle, in her feature film debut.

Jerusalem Countdown – Trailer

Synopsis: When nuclear weapons are smuggled into America, FBI Agent Shane Daughtry (David A.R White) is faced with an impossible task — find them before they are detonated. The clock is ticking and the only people who can help are a washed up arms dealer (Lee Majors), a converted Israeli Mossad Agent (Stacy Keach) and a by- the-book CIA Deputy Director (Randy Travis).

Amazing Love: The Story of Hosea – Trailer

Synopsis: Teen friends, Steve, Carrie, Cooper, and Gameboy embark on a weekend camping trip lead by their church youth group leader Stuart (Sean Astin) and his wife Beth (Erin Bethea). Joining them is an outsider Ashley, a self-involved rich kid, whose attitude causes a major commotion within the group, specifically between her and Carrie. Before it gets too out of hand though, Stuart takes this opportunity to share with the kids the incredibly powerful biblical story of Hosea; a story of immovable faith, impeccable commitment, and impervious love.

Crossroads Movie Trailer

Synopsis: Where fates collide, one road appears.
Fueled by revenge, Michael sets up a meeting with Clef Robie, the man who murdered his wife and child 6 years ago.

His plans of killing him come to a sudden standstill when two gunmen rob the diner. Michael takes matters into his own hands when he shoots them and holds the entire diner hostage until he kills his target. In the midst of all these events, Michael finds an unlikely ally in Don, a devout Christian who believes God is going to help him in his endeavor. While Michael battles with his faith, the hostages start finding extraordinary connections between them.

CROSSROAD is an emotional and inspiring story of redemption, forgiveness, and the ultimate realization of God’s Grace in all of our lives

Standing Firm Movie Trailer

After the death of his wife, reluctant churchgoer Dave Corwin finds his life in pieces. While his bitterness with God grows, so does strife with his son Steven, the only Christian remaining at home. With his faith unwelcome, and anger pushing them apart, Steven seeks advice and prayer from others around him. Can he reach his father before grief destroys what’s left of their family?

IMPACT :: A GLOBAL CHRISTIAN MUSIC EVENT :: NEW YEAR’S EVE 2013 LIVE FROM NASHVILLE
www.newyearsimpact.com
This New Year’s Eve, don’t just make a resolution, make an IMPACT! We’ve put together a great evening of the best in Christian music and entertainment, and there’s two ways you can join us:.

October 9 at 1:10pm..

New Year’s Impact

We have news coming this morning about our plans for New Year’s Impact – stay tuned!
October 7 at 6:05am.

Impact is a 5-hour, online New Year’s Eve celebration featuring live Christian music and entertainment. This will be the largest faith based global gathering, of any kind, ever to be assembled in one night. It will be broadcast globally to church venues in multi-camera, high definition video, and also made available to smartphones, iPads, laptops and more. This event is designed for individuals and groups to celebrate in a safe, high-energy environment through a LIVE interactive online platform featuring high-energy bands, celebrity appearances, and faith-based messages.

Our mission is to provide an exciting New Year’s Eve alternative and bring the global Christian community together in a faith-affirming celebration with interactive content that clearly shares the message of salvation to the unsaved. Impact provides the global church with a tool to reach the non-believer in ways never seen before.

Here’s what you need to know to sign up as a hosting venue:
•Impact will be live online from 7 p.m. until the clock strikes midnight (US Central time)
•Registration includes online access to a portal where you can order discounted merchandise, download marketing and teaching resources, and access system technical support
•If you have questions about the technical process, we’ve got some answers online for you (if those don’t cover it, drop us a line at info@newyearsimpact.com and we’ll be happy to help)
•And of course, we have our terms and conditions for the online event that you may want to review

What churches are participating?

Many fans are interested in the show, and are asking “So which churches in my area are going to show this?” The answer is – Why not yours? If you want to see Impact in your community, let your youth minister, pastor or other church leaders know. Be sure they understand what they can do with this:
•5 hours of great Christian music and entertainment, presented live right in your own facility
•A great opportunity to reach those who might not be ready to come in Sunday morning – introduce them to your members and ministries in a fun, comfortable environment
•Take back the celebration of the New Year from the secular market, and engage those who often look for change or something new at this time of year
•Build whatever kind of event you like around the broadcast – there will be intermissions and opportunities for local interaction

New Year’s Impact

Here’s our friends Shane and Shane with a message on why you should sign up for New Year’s Impact! Sign up your youth group or get a ticket to watch in your home at http://www.newyearsimpact.com/go/fb .
